The Creative Crèche Programme - Summer 2018

The Creative Crèche Programme - Summer 2018

May 2018

Fri 27 Apr - Thu 31 May 2018

Artists Orla Kelly and Andrew Carson will work with two Dublin 15 pre-schools, Barnardo’s in Mulhuddart and Oakridge Pre-school, to explore and respond to the exhibition ‘MAKing Art: The DRAWing Exhibition’ (Pgs 34-35) in Draíocht’s Ground Floor Gallery. Through facilitated visits to the Gallery and then back in their own classroom, the children will scribble, doodle, shade and blend with pencils and charcoal as they explore drawing and mark making. It will most definitely be messy, and most definitely be fun. For further information about this Outreach Crèche programme contact sarah@draiocht.ie

Shadows, sights, sounds … scribbles, giggles, swirls ...
Join Us For our 4th Toddler Take Over Adventure in May!

A host of wonderful artists and art forms awaits you to see, hear and experience new adventures during our Toddler Take Over Adventure 2018! Draíocht’s Toddler Take Over, now in its 4th Year, celebrates the limitless imagination of the very young child and the magic that happens when it is combined with the world of artists and the arts. With a combination of book-in and free drop-in events, children are invited to explore synaesthesia with Sights and Sounds and think about really important questions:
HOW BIG IS A SHADOW?
HOW DOES MUSIC MAKE ME MOVE?
CAN I DRAW WITHOUT A PENCIL?
For this one day, Draíocht transforms into a big space for adventure through story, visual arts, music, circus and dance for the very young. Scribble and draw inspired by Sharon Kelly’s exhibition, dance, move and see a mysterious and strange land of domes and  shapes in our Main Auditorium, discover musicians playing, Roll Up with the circus, dance with shadows, watch a film unfold and more. Children are invited to bring their insatiable curiosity and their adults to explore, discover new art forms, create, play, dance, draw, sing and nurture creative potential, while having fun too.

All Children must be accompanied by an Adult and all Adults must be accompanied by a child! Dress for Mess and we would ask you to please respect age limits on book in workshops. Booking is by phone via Box Office on 01-8852622 or in person at Box Office, open Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm.
