The Toddler Take Over 2018 - For Ages 1-4 Years - SOLD OUT
A Little Event For The Youngest Citizens of Blanchardstown
Shadows, sights, sounds … scribbles, giggles, swirls ...
Join Us For our 4th Toddler Take Over Adventure in May!
A host of wonderful artists and art forms awaits you to see, hear and experience new adventures during our Toddler Take Over Adventure 2018! Draíocht’s Toddler Take Over, now in its 4th Year, celebrates the limitless imagination of the very young child and the magic that happens when it is combined with the world of artists and the arts. With a combination of book-in and free drop-in events, children are invited to explore synaesthesia with Sights and Sounds and think about really important questions:
HOW BIG IS A SHADOW?
HOW DOES MUSIC MAKE ME MOVE?
CAN I DRAW WITHOUT A PENCIL?
For this one day, Draíocht transforms into a big space for adventure through story, visual arts, music, circus and dance for the very young. Scribble and draw inspired by Sharon Kelly’s exhibition, dance, move and see a mysterious and strange land of domes and shapes in our Main Auditorium, discover musicians playing, Roll Up with the circus, dance with shadows, watch a film unfold and more. Children are invited to bring their insatiable curiosity and their adults to explore, discover new art forms, create, play, dance, draw, sing and nurture creative potential, while having fun too.
All Children must be accompanied by an Adult and all Adults must be accompanied by a child! Dress for Mess and we would ask you to please respect age limits on book in workshops. Booking is by phone via Box Office on 01-8852622 or in person at Box Office, open Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie - Sensory Friendly Screening
Cinema at Draíocht
Based on the worldwide sensation and bestselling book series, and boasting an A-list cast of comedy superstars headed by Kevin Hart and Ed Helms, DreamWorks Animation brings audiences the long-awaited global movie event, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. This raucously subversive comedy for the entire family tells the story of two overly imaginative pranksters named George and Harold, who hypnotize their principal into thinking he's a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dim-witted superhero named Captain Underpants.
For this sensory friendly screening the volume is lowered, the auditorium lights are left on at a low level so the auditorium won't be in total darkness, we have restricted the capacity and viewers can make noise and move around the auditorium space if they wish.
Cert: PG / Language: English / Dur: 84 mins
