Limitless - Aoife Dunne

Limitless - Aoife Dunne

Fri 7 Jul - Sat 26 Aug 2017 Ground Floor Gallery

Limitless is an immersive digital installation by artist Aoife Dunne which focuses on her preoccupation with perfection and fear of inadequacy. She is interested in the relationship between costume and identity and the creation of large-scale environments. The artist moves fluidly between physical and digital worlds presenting her work with deliberate childlike playfulness and absurdity.  In this piece, Aoife creates a video game and recreates the 2D game environment in the physical, allowing the viewer to enter the work. Limitless explores the desire to continuously recreate oneself in a never-ending cycle of self-construction driven by self-critique.
Aoife Dunne is an award winning artist and recent graduate in Fine Art Media from NCAD. Outside of the studio, Aoife works as a Creative Director and Stylist, the experience of which strongly influences her practice.
