Macy’s department store needs to find a replacement Santa in the run up to Christmas. Kris Kringle (Edmund Gwenn) - with his white beard and twinkling eyes - seem to be the perfect substitute; but when Kris claims that he is the real Santa Claus, he is soon dismissed. Can he prove that he is not insane and is indeed the real Father Christmas?
