What information do we collect and on what legal basis?
At Draíocht we collect information both at our Box Office (either from you in person or over the telephone) and via our website. Sometimes we collect data in person in the course of our work with you. We will always protect your data and have security measures in place to ensure its safety.
There are three bases under which we may process your data:
Contract purposes
When you make a purchase from us or make a donation to us, you are entering into a contract with us. In order to perform this contract we need to process and store your data. For example we may need to contact you by email or telephone in the case of cancellation of a show, or in the case of problems with your payment.
Legitimate business interests
In certain situations we collect and process your personal data for purposes that are in our legitimate organisational interests. However we only do this if there is no overriding prejudice to you by using your personal information in this way.
With your explicit consent
For any situations where the two bases above are not appropriate, we will instead ask for your explicit consent before using your personal information in that specific situation.
Box Office
When booking tickets for events at Draíocht’s Box Office, we will ask you for your name, address, email and/or phone number. You will be asked if you’d like to subscribe to our email and mailing list, if you wish. Draíocht will not use your contact details to send you promotional emails unless you have explicitly given us consent to do so.
You can also purchase tickets anonymously and not reveal any information about yourself. This must be done in person at Box Office so that our team can physically hand you the tickets upon purchase. It is, however, best practice to at least provide a phone number so we can contact you in the event of cancellation of a show, or a name for the tickets so that they can be re-printed if you misplace them.
If you are purchasing tickets online the minimum personal information required is your name and payment details so that tickets can be assigned to you upon purchase.

Green Office Policy & Procedures
At Draíocht we strive to promote good practice in all our work. Whilst we do not have an environmental remit, we recognise that we have environmental responsibilities and therefore operate our office, as far as is practicable, in a way that conserves the natural environment and minimises the organisation’s impact on same. Procedures are in place to fulfil this policy, as follows:
1) Consumption: Use Less
- Lighting: Switch off lights if the office is unoccupied or when natural light is showing. Wherever possible, use energy efficient light bulbs.
- Temperature: Only switch heaters on if the office is cold and occupied. Only use electric fans if the room temperature cannot be lowered by opening windows and closing blinds.
- Electrical Equipment: Switch off electrical equipment when not in use.
- Paper and Card: Always use paper and card on both sides. Make double sided computer prints and use the draft printing option wherever possible. Make double sided photocopies.
2) Waste: Minimise & Recylce

Draíocht’s EDI Strategy & Action Plan
Draíocht’s EDI Policy is a living document and we want it to be responsive to the needs of our community and all our stakeholders. For this reason, each year we will review and discuss our progress with the goal of improving our practice and keeping our actions strategically relevant.
Our first strategic goal is to build capacity in order to deliver Draíocht’s EDI Strategy. The actions associated with this goal include a more equitable approach to board and staff recruitment and an ongoing commitment to being up to date with the latest equality legislation.
Our second strategic goal is to remove barriers to participation so that everyone in Dublin 15 feels that they can explore and express their creativity. While we strive to be a place of welcome and we place an emphasis on strong and meaningful partnerships, we intend to further commit to identifying and addressing the barriers that prevent people in Dublin 15 from participating. Through robust data collection, we will be able to map our audiences, our programme participants and our artists and investigate the nature of the barriers that prevent our local communities from taking part in our work. We will use this data to inform our approach to reaching people who face barriers to participation.
Our third strategic goal is to attract and support artists who may face exclusion because of their gender, sexual orientation, civil or family status, religion, age, disability, race, membership of the Traveller Community or socio-economic status.
Our action plan sets out a series of measurable actions that are time-bound and incorporates an evaluation of the outcomes for each objective. This will allow us to measure progress and to clearly communicate our commitment and our outcomes.
