Irish Youth Dance Festival Residency 2019 at Draíocht

This week-long residency, with teacher and choreographer Sue Malone (DYDC), is for young people selected from Dublin 15, aged 14-16 years of age, with an interest in dance. Over 5 days, participants will work together with DYDC facilitators, exploring and creating a contemporary dance piece for performance. The resulting dance piece will be performed at the Young Creators Platform on Sunday 30th June (an informal showing). No previous experience is necessary, just an interest in dance and working with others to create something new.
Places are FREE, but Limited.

Open Call for Dancers
Dublin Youth Dance Company in collaboration with Draíocht and Fingal Arts Office are looking for youth dance groups and companies from the locality interested in participating at the Irish Youth Dance Festival 2019, to be presented at Draíocht on Saturday 29th June 2019.
The festival started in the year 2000, delivering exciting, highly physical and uplifting performances from a selection of up-and-coming Irish and International Youth Dance Companies and each year programmes masterclasses, workshops, informal showings and outdoor performances.
If you are interested in presenting your group or company at the festival, please send an email to Artistic Director of the festival Mariam Ribon to email@example.com, with a digital link to the work intended for the festival or a previous work.
Criteria for the group/company dance pieces: No longer than 7 mins for group pieces. Up to 4 mins for solo work. Maximum of 15/18 dancers. Original dance choreography. Priority given to contemporary dance works. Although the Irish Youth Dance Festival aims to develop contemporary dance, other dance styles will also be considered. Applications by email are free (no entry fee) and should be received by 15th March 2019.
