Rebuilding Our Community with Andrew Carson
Age Range: All ages

While we’re all staying safe and staying at home, why don’t we imagine what it could be like to make our own built environment? What would our house look like? What about our shops? What would you like Draíocht to look like? Using simple shapes, let’s draw, paint, colour, decorate and cut out building blocks for the new community we want to see! How many can you make?

Artist Andrew Carson has created a number of downloads which you can access beforehand to print at home (available from 2 June).
Would you like your finished work to join Draíocht’s #ShowUsYourArt Exhibition when we reopen? Email a photo of your finished artwork to paula@draiocht.ie  with your name and age.

This is the first in a series of 3 Online Workshops by Andrew Carson, created for Cruinniú na nOg 2020, presented by Draíocht & Creative Fingal.
All workshops will be posted to Draíocht’s Facebook and YouTube Channels, starting on Saturday 13th June 2020 and weekly thereafter.

Playful Puppetry with Anne Cradden
Age Range: 0-4 years

Join artist Anne Cradden to make some wonderful puppet characters that we can move with our hands! Using things that you can find at home, such as cardboard rolls, old clothes, and socks, she will show you how to make simple sock puppets for toddlers and kitchen-roll puppets for older children. Kids can decorate their creation in any way they can think of, and then we will bring their characters to life in their own puppet theatre!  Wild animals, aliens from Mars, wizards and witches, unicorns, princes and princesses, fairies and dragons, superheroes, even your teacher, the postman or your baby sister…who is going to star in your story?

Would you like your finished work to join Draíocht’s #ShowUsYourArt Exhibition when we reopen? Email a photo of your finished artwork to paula@draiocht.ie  with your name and age.

Let’s do this! Movement with Conor Donelan
Age Range: 5-8 / 9-12

A series of three workshops in which we are going to have the craic almighty!

After using elements of Yoga and Tai Chi to warm up, we’ll show each other our best dance moves of the day and then have a bit of a boogie, throwing shapes galore and getting moving to an absolute banger of a tune. These workshops are all about grounding, connecting in with our bodies through movement, and sharing our love for dance and expression.

This is the first in a series of 3 Online Workshops by Conor Donelan, created for Cruinniú na nOg 2020, presented by Draíocht & Creative Fingal.
All workshops will be posted to Draíocht’s Facebook and YouTube Channels, starting on Saturday 13th June 2020 and weekly thereafter.

Art Explorers Go Wild with Genevieve Harden
Age Range: All Ages

Genevieve will be showing you how to make an animal and its habitat using found materials from nature. Starting with a walk, she will make a collection of sticks, dried flowers and stones that she will use to make an animal. Back in the studio, she will demonstrate how to construct a creature using sticks, clay and plaster bandage. At this point Genevieve will use drawing skills to help you to imagine the character of the new creature.  What it eats, where it sleeps, what’s its name and what noise does it make. The creature's habitat will be made using more of the collected materials and finally you will join your creature by adding a small cut-out photo of yourself just to give the new creation some company.

This is the first in a series of 3 Online Workshops by Genevieve Harden, created for Cruinniú na nOg 2020, presented by Draíocht & Creative Fingal.
All workshops will be posted to Draíocht’s Facebook and YouTube Channels, starting on Saturday 13th June 2020 and weekly thereafter.
