Moon Woke Me Up Nine times. It was still 4am.
So I built a rocket with my friends. And went on a journey that never ends.
Come up and away with us. Come and play with us. Come build a rocket that will BLAST OFF and take us on a magical journey to the moon. All the way, up there, in outer space.
I wonder if it smells of cheese? I wonder if it will make me sneeze? Let’s find out!

Inspired by a Haiku of the same title by Basho Matsuo, Moon Woke Me Up is an interactive theatrical adventure to outer space for ages 2-4 years, using a wonderful blend of performance and interactive drama, construction play and sensory explorations. The performance runs alongside SPACE TO PLAY, an interactive, free-play space designed by Orla Kelly of Early Childhood Creativity in collaboration with Little Bigtop.

Draíocht in Association with The Irish Film Institute

Wed 12 Feb 2020 10.30AM Main Auditorium // €5 Per Student / 2 Teachers Free per Class of 20+

This season Draíocht will collaborate once again with the Irish Film Institutes Education Programme by screening the film 'Stars by the Pound / 100 kilos d'étoiles' for Junior Cycle Secondary School Students, in French (with English subtitles). Recommended age: 12+

Lois, 16, has only one dream: becoming an astronaut. However, although she’s gifted in physics, she has a big problem: Lois weighs over 200 pounds – a family trait she’s inescapably stuck with. When Lois is told by her science teacher that her excess weight means she will never become an astronaut, she faces a battle with her own body image that leads to hospitalisation. Then, just when everything seems lost, Lois meets Amélie, Stannah, and Justine: three teenagers shattered, like her, by life’s tough breaks; yet ready for anything in order to leave with her for outer space…Together, they motivate each other to take a road trip and enter a science competition that could win them a zero gravity flight. A sweet, touching story about friendship and self-belief.
