Laugh, sing and maybe even shed a tear with the 18 strong Percy French Troubadours, who invite you to join with them again for this evening of songs, poems and sketches by Percy French. Featuring all-time favourites ‘Are ye right there Michael?’, ‘The Darling Girl from Clare’, ‘To The West’, ‘The Four Farrellys’ and ‘Abdul Abulbul Amir’ (Percy’s first successful song), they’ll even give you a sheet with all the words to sing along!
The Percy French Troubadours have clocked up an impressive number of gigs as they continue fundraising for a variety of local charities. Having already raised over €72,000 for a variety of charities, this night will be in aid of The Daughters of Charity Mission Fund.

This show features some new and many of Aslan’s best known songs plus some classic covers. There is good banter with the audience, as the lads explain the background of some of the songs plus stories of 30 plus years in Aslan. Early booking advised.

On the Late Late Show recently, Christy performed this ballad with Finbar Furey and the video  footage of this went viral – achieving over 4 million views on YouTube so far.

Declan O’Rourke is a highly successful Irish artist, acclaimed by his peers, and having achieved many plaudits with his five albums released to date. Declan’s soulful music, rooted in folk and trad, has attracted the praise of countless industry giants, including John Prine, and Paul Weller, among others. The Dubliner’s legend John Sheahan, declared recently that, “after 50 years I have decided it’s time to put a lid on the ‘The Dubliners,’ but I’m sure you’ll all agree that with Declan, and Damien (Dempsey), the future is in good hands.” A dynamic performer, he is at once as comfortable fronting a 50-piece orchestra, as playing solo with a guitar.

Route 66, a 16 piece Big Band with a real difference, make a welcome return to Draíocht following their great success last year. Their show, which has been a huge success with theatre audiences all over Leinster for the past three years, takes you on a magical musical tour from the 40’s right up to date with numbers made famous by Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Glen Miller, Tom Jones, Adele, Joe Dolan, Tina Turner, Van Morrison, Ella Fitzgerald and many more. 

Route 66 Big Band were formed in 1998 and over the years have played at weddings, festivals, charity fundraisers as well as at the Rose of Tralee Festival Ball in the Dome in Tralee. Made up of experienced musicians from Dublin, Meath and Kildare, with a fabulous brass and saxophone section, they are perfectly blended together to produce the very best in Big Band entertainment.

'My heart and I' is a brand new show which traces the life and loves of the great Irish Tenor Josef Locke. Interwoven with many of the songs he made famous throughout his long and astonishingly dramatic career, there are performances of 'Goodbye'; 'Hear my Song'; 'Macushla'; 'I’ll walk beside you'; 'La Donna é Mobile'; 'We all have a song in our Hearts'; alongside dramatic recreations of the triumphs of his career as well as the tragedies of his many marriage break-ups, personal feuds, moments of self-doubt, and of course, his well -known run in with the British Inland Revenue.

Shane McDonagh, a young Tenor with an astounding voice takes the part of Locke while John White, writer and accompanist, fills in as the myriad of fellow artists, agents, and marriage partners of Locke’s long and eventful life. This is the many facets of Josef Locke, both good and not so good, with moments of transcendence by way of some of the most beautiful melodies ever written for the tenor voice.

Coolmine Musical Society are privileged to be taking to the stage with Michael Collins - A Musical Drama. It tells the story of turbulent events preceding the foundation of the State, from 1916, through the War of Independence and the Civil War, not to mention the love affair triangle between Collins, his fiancée Kitty Kiernan and top Republican firebrand Harry Boland. Since writer & composer Bryan Flynn’s masterpiece opened to critical acclaim in 2009, it has raised the bar with its visual and dramatic production. Coolmine Musical Society is proud to be flying this flag of freedom high.

Coolmine Musical Society has been in existence since 1981 and their mission has always been to bring musical theatre and entertainment to the community and further afield. Coolmine Musical Society originally performed their shows in Coolmine Community School, before they moved into Draìocht, opening the theatre in 2001 with Oliver!. Over the years they’ve taken to the stage in Draìocht with shows including My Fair Lady, Sweeney Todd, Jesus Christ Superstar and last year’s production of All Shook Up for which they were delighted to be shortlisted and indeed win a number of awards at the AIMS Awards in Killarney earlier this year.

Compere Ronan Collins will sing his renowned tributes to Joe Dolan, Dickie Rock, Eurovision hits and more. Joining Ronan is Linda Martin - A Superstar of Showbiz - Winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992 with 'Why Me' and TV Presenter on multiple shows for RTE. Ireland’s greatest voice, Red Hurley will also be singing all his great hits. Also brother and Sister combo, Keith & Lorraine McDonald, with their fantastic tribute to all things Showband. Also the big sound of The Conquerors Showband and Eurovision stars Tommy and Jimmy Swarbrigg, as well as surprise hit from last year, Dave Lawlor, to complete this super line up.

The show’s exciting finale is an ALL Cast Salute to the Showband Era. All of the stars join in for a medley of songs from the unique Showband Years!  Bringing you back in time to this magical musical period. Legends of Irish music & song The Fureys, renowned for their hit songs ‘I Will Love You’, ‘When You Were Sweet 16’, ‘The Green Fields Of France’, ‘The Old Man’, ‘Red Rose Café’, ‘From Clare To Here’, ‘Her Father Didn’t Like Me Anyway’, ‘Leaving Nancy’, ‘Steal Away’ and many more, are back in Draiocht this Season. The Fureys have been entertaining audiences worldwide for 41 years, audiences that have included former Australian Prime Minister John Howard, Former Irish President Mary McAleese and the late Pope John Paul while Tony Blair has publicly stated his favourite peace song of all time is the Fureys “Green Fields of France”. President Michael D Higgins attended their last concert in Dublin’s National Concert Hall. 
The Fureys are responsible for some of the most stirring music ever to capture the public imagination. Their folk based music has received standing ovations in some of the biggest concert halls of the world and they credit their musical ability to their parents, Ted and Nora, who were well known musicians themselves. They encouraged their sons to play music from a very early age and there was live traditional music in their house almost nightly. Their emotive songs stir many emotions….tears and laughter, sadness and joy. A Fureys concert is always a night to remember!
