Draiocht and The Connect Club 2018
This July will be Draíocht’s 11th year working with the Daughters of Charity’s Summer ’Connect Club’ in Laurel Lodge. The camp, catering for young people with varying degrees of intellectual disability aims at providing an outlet that is fun and focused on the individuals likes and interests. In the past our Artists have facilitated drama, dance, music and visual art workshops, encouraging participants to work on their individual creativity and style. Workshops are for ages 12-18 years. A Winter Wish - Ceol Connected
Every winter in Whistleberry Forest, a little robin comes to visit and grants the creatures of the forest their very own wish - they can wish for whatever they want! As Ornaith the owl, Sorley the snail and Faoiláin the frog sing the magic words, the forest is transformed before their eyes into an enchanting wintry wonderland.
From dripping icicles to gentle snowfall, the delight of skating on an icy river or flying high on a moonlit night, discover the mysteries of Whistleberry Forest in a mesmerising traditional music performance made especially for children with sensory needs.
With musicians Thomas Johnston and Stephen Markham and visual artist Orla Kelly, Ceol Connected’s 'A Winter Wish' is a highly interactive, multisensory and immersive musical adventure that has been specifically developed to engage children with special educational needs. From the makers of 'A Wonderful Tune' and 'The Quiet Tree'.
