Paintings by Susan Connolly, Bridget Flannery, Geraldine O'Neill & Liz Rackard
Ground Floor Gallery
&
Paintings from the Collection of The Arts Council
First Floor Gallery

Curated by Sharon Murphy

MAKing Art: PAINTing is the second in a series of exhibitions (2018-2022) particularly aimed at children and young people which explores a specific visual art discipline, its materials, processes and varied manifestations. Painting is the focus of this second exhibition (the first was drawing). It celebrates different approaches to the use of paint, to the act of painting and to the painting as finished artwork. Four contemporary artists with contrasting styles and subjects are featured in the Ground Floor Gallery: Susan Connolly, Bridget Flannery, Geraldine O'Neill and Liz Rackard.

Paintings from the collection of The Arts Council will be exhibited in the First Floor Gallery and will feature works made between 1968 and 2018, some of which have never been shown publicly. Artists include: Berger Hammerschlag, Diana Copperwhite, Jacinta Feeney, Damien Flood, Genieve Figgis, Ramon Kassam, Richard Gorman, Roy Johnson, Mark Joyce and Paul Mosse.

MAKing Art: PAINTing will be accompanied by a programme of engagement for young people facilitated by participating artists.
