D15 Youth Theatre - Spring/Summer 2021

D15 Youth Theatre - Spring/Summer 2021

Jan - June 2021

Tue 19 Jan - Tue 29 Jun 2021

Like last year, we'll be live Zooming on Tuesday evenings, until we can return to work together in the same space hopefully later this year! Youth Theatre facilitators Emily Matthews along with Eimear Morrissey will continue to lead the group.

We will continue to work in fun and exciting ways exploring all things theatre, through improvised games, group work and the on-going explorations of themes of interest, just in a social distancing kind of way.

Youth Theatre gives young people aged between 14-18 years a space to create, express themselves and explore ideas, every Tuesday evening either in person or on line.

Please Note: D15 Youth Theatre Auditions usually take place in October of each year. Due to the ongoing health emergency and government restrictions, auditions have been postponed until further notice.

Light Up - Draíocht Building Projection Commissions 2021

Mon 22 Mar - Sat 1 May 2021

Light Up - Draíocht's Building Projection Commissions 2021 - Continues with a brand new work by Digital installation artist Aoife Dunne ... ABYSS .. a large-scale digital installation inspired by the chaotic nature of our current isolated and technology-driven lives.

Aoife Dunne is an installation artist fusing sculpture, video, sound, performance, and costume. Her imaginative compositions are a product of accumulating, arranging, reusing, and reworking layers of visual and digital material. She has exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts London, Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, with upcoming shows in New York, Puerto Rico, Paris and Tokyo. Aoife is from D15 and is currently based and working in Dublin.

We are delighted to present ‘Light Up’, an artist led, community engagement Project, presented by Draíocht, in partnership with Fingal County Council. It sees Draíocht commission artists to create a series of images that will be projected on to our building over the darker months of 2021.

#CreateAtHome - My Dream Day - Make your Own Animation Set

With Genevieve Harden

Mon 29 Mar - Wed 30 Jun 2021

Artist Genevieve Harden has created this amazing workshop to help you create your own Animation Set, complete with backdrop, props and a mini photo of yourself in the middle of all the action, on your dream day. First a brainstorm to draw your perfect sketched background painting. Maybe a Hot Air Balloon Adventure? Maybe a Beach Scene? Or maybe a Giant Ladybird and lots of Giant Flowers? Enjoy drawing and painting your backdrop and adding in objects into your scene. Gen shows us how to make a ladybird from plasticine to complete her adventure. You could carry on this idea and make your own stop motion movie afterwards.

Enjoy!

Draíocht's Family Art programme is ideal for ages 5-10 years.

Draíocht and Early Years

Mon 29 Mar - Wed 30 Jun 2021

Artist Anne Cradden has created this amazing workshop to help you explore the fabulous shapes and colours that can be created with stamping and printing, especially at home, using easy to find objects. Make your own stamps, using cardboard, sponges and even toys. Mix colours and create all kinds of shapes. After all your wonderful prints are dry, try your hand at making home-made bunting!

Draíocht's Early Years Art programme is ideal for ages 2-4 years.
Printing is fun, and is also messy, so make sure to DRESS FOR MESS!
Enjoy!

Art Explorers Go Wild with Genevieve Harden - Part 1

Art Explorers Go Wild with Genevieve Harden - Part 1

Presented by Draíocht in collaboration with Creative Fingal and Creative Ireland

Mon 29 Mar - Wed 30 Jun 2021

Genevieve will show you how to make an animal and its habitat using found materials from nature. Starting with a walk, she will make a collection of sticks, dried flowers and stones that she will use to make an animal. Back in the studio, she will demonstrate how to construct a creature using sticks, clay and plaster bandage. Then you can either keep your animal, or return it to the wild!
