Maps to the Stars (2014)

You never know, he might turn you from a pauper to a prince just like the hero of this story, brought to vivid life on an incredible sloping stage by Patrick Lynch from Cbeebies. With smoke and mirrors and hidden trapdoors he’ll show you how this sure-footed feline fools both the King and the Ogre to put his master at the top. With a host of puppets, a working windmill and an avalanche of fruit and nuts come and see this classic furry tail - it’s the cat’s whiskers!

Bigger Picture Projects
‘I watch him pull the cow from the ditch with his bare hands, her big eyes rest on me dead calm as he leans into her and she gives in all trust. I hate that fuckin’ cow’.
‘Charolais‘ takes the age old tale of female jealousy and gives it a new twist: the other woman is cow, a literal one, a purebred Charolais heifer. Siobhan’s boyfriend is a farmer who devotes considerable attention to his prize heifer at the expense of his very pregnant girlfriend. Siobhan has developed a homicidal jealousy for this Charolais and is feeling equally murderous towards her snobbish soon-to-be mother in law.

The Way He Looks (2014)
Film at Draíocht
Leonardo is a visually impaired teenager struggling to break free from his well-meaning friends and family. At home, his over- protective mother won’t let him do things by himself, and at school his best friend, Giovana, attentively looks out for him, leaving no room for Leonardo to stand up for himself. Wanting to experience the world for himself he considers going on an exchange programme, hoping to start afresh.
However, when new student Gabriel arrives in town, new feelings blossom and Leonardo begins to question his plans. Expanding his 2010 short to feature length, director Daniel Ribeiro has fashioned a magnificent, warm and funny film about friendship, the desire for independence and the longing for first love.

Adam Bell (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a glum, dishevelled history professor. Watching a movie one evening, Adam spots his double; a bit-part actor named Anthony Clair and decides to track him down. The identical men meet and their lives become bizarrely and irrevocably intertwined. Gyllenhaal is transfixing as both Adam and Anthony, provoking empathy as well as disapproval while embodying two distinct personas. ‘Enemy’, adapted from Nobel Prize-winning author José Saramago's novel ‘The Double’, is about the power of the subconscious. In the end, only one man can survive.
