The National Photography Collection was established in 2021 by Photo Museum Ireland. It aims to reflect the development of the medium of modern and contemporary photography in the Irish context. It charts the work of leading Irish artists, critically framing their practice to build awareness of the politics of place and the role of photography in shaping cultural identity. The Collection was initiated to support contemporary photographic artists to digitise their individual archives, securing their legacy for the future.
