Penguins, Monsters and a Wicked Fairy

We were delighted to reunite Draíocht's 29-piece PLAYground Orchestra this November & December.
Draíocht’s 29 piece Playground Orchestra was reunited once again this November & December.
Choir Master Dave McGauren finished our 6 week ‘A Song Project’ in association with The Mobile Music School in 4 schools in D15, culminating in two inter-school choral performance with 440 children singing their newly learned songs on 30th November, accompanied live by Draíocht’s Playground Orchestra in our Main Auditorium.
Then, as part of Draíocht's Christmas Celebrations, we hosted 4 Family Christmas Singalong Concerts with MC Extraordinaire Mark Rogers and Singers Susan McFadden and 10 year old rising Dublin 15 star Sean O’Callaghan singing ‘The Snowman’, together with Draíocht’s Playground Orchestra. This family themed concert included orchestral medleys and lots of songs that were instantly recognisable, to get everyone in the Christmas spirit! And to help audiences sing along, there was a big screen with all of the lyrics.
Where it all started ... It took a full year but by the end of 2022, every primary school in Dublin 15, and therefore, every primary school going child in Dublin 15 saw, heard, danced and sang along to Draíocht’s 29-piece PLAYGROUND ORCHESTRA in their school! That's approximately 17,000 children, aged 4-13 years of age, plus their teachers and support staff.
The PLAYground Orchestra was created by Draíocht in collaboration with Shay Lally of The Mobile Music School with funding from Fingal County Council.
