25 years after the smash success of duo Frances Black and Kieran Goss, and following the success of their Grand Opera House Belfast shows, Frances and Kieran have announced details for their Reunion Tour in 2017 and we are delighted to welcome them to Draiocht.
It’s been over 25 years since Frances and Kieran last toured together. In the intervening years both artists have enjoyed huge international success in their respective solo careers, but it was the inspired pairing of these unique talents as a duo in the early ’90s that first caught the imagination of the Irish public.
Now for the first time in Blanchardstown they reunite for this special show.
MORE ... Windmill Lane Sessions 2015
"It had been such a long time since we worked together that we were both nervous, but from the very first song of the first show we knew we were doing the right thing. The audience sang every song with us ... the whole evening felt like a meeting up of old friends .. both Frances and I loved every minute of it. We're delighted to be offered this opportunity to play more shows together. We may even turn our reunion into an annual event!" Kieran Goss

The Legend of Luke Kelly with Chris Kavanagh
Celebrating the memory and music of a true Irish musical legend
On 30th January 1984 it is said that the whole of Dublin grieved the early death of Dubliner legend Luke Kelly who has left an indelible mark as being the greatest folk artist of the 20th Century and whose music is widely regarded as one of Ireland's cultural treasures.
Dublin singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Chris Kavanagh was raised on Irish music and has been singing Irish folk songs since he was three years old. He learned to play the piano by ear when he was five and his love and passion for Luke Kelly's music led him to learn to play the 5 string long neck banjo. Over the past fifteen years he has amazed audiences following powerful sell-out performances in prominent Irish venues such as Vicar Street & the Cork Opera House with the regular attendance of Luke Kelly's family. He has also toured this show abroad in England, Switzerland, Germany and Australia and in November 2011 Chris stood in with folk legends The Dubliners on their German tour and also made a guest appearance on their 50th anniversary concert DVD recorded in Vicar Street. When Chris sings, his talents capture the depth and passion of the great man that he was so heavily influenced by.
He is joined on stage by one of Irelands leading guitarist/composers, Michael Howard and traditional musician Joe Finn on Uilleann pipes, Whistle, Flute & fiddle.
