The Henry Girls - Far Beyond The Stars
Donegal sisters Karen, Lorna and Joleen are collectively known as The Henry Girls; nurtured musically by their celtic roots, their sound is not bound by them. They have found a way to personalise their music and, steeped as they are in tradition, successfully nourish the seeds of old with a bright, refreshing approach. They have a knack for creating authentic original material, rich in traditional values. Their tight three-part harmonies are matched by soulful musicianship across a range of instruments including harp, fiddle, accordion, ukulele, banjo and piano.
This Spring sees them release their 6th studio album, produced by Calum Malcolm (Blue Nile, Heidi Talbot), called Far Beyond The Stars.

Between Your Love and Mine - A requiem by Leonard Cohen
Presented by Mend and MakeDo Theatre Company
Work on Leonard Cohen's requiem, Between Your Love and Mine, began last summer. Using only the music and words of Leonard Cohen and with the singer's full cooperation, writer John MacKenna devised a piece of theatre which features a broad range of Cohen's work, sung and spoken - excerpts from Cohen's Book of Mercy; a late and unpublished poem; songs from across the singer's career and arrangements of later work - to produce a requiem that not only remembers young friends and those who mourn them but also, ironically, commemorates Leonard Cohen, whose unexpected death came just two weeks after he had approved the final draft of Between Your Love and Mine.
Musical director for the requiem is Aisling Carter and it features the voices of Eric Butler, Katie Jacques and Shane Sullivan. The band features Aisling Carter on keyboard, Lucy Deegan on cello; Annie-Rose Deegan on violin; David Day on percussion. Lighting: Tom Kennedy.
Spoken word is by Angela Keogh and John MacKenna, who also Directs the requiem.
Dur: 80 mins
