If you are a Secondary School in Dublin 15 and are interested in finding out more about our work, read more here.
Secondary School Tours:
Bring your class for a full tour of our building, include Draíocht’s Galleries, Theatres and Backstage areas. Students are encouraged to voice their own opinions about the artists and their work in our galleries and ask questions about theatre productions and staging, on this fun 50-minute free tour (max 30 pupils with accompanying teacher).
Focus On Workshops:
After a facilitated exploration of exhibitions in our Galleries, featured artists will lead students through workshops introducing the principles of their artform. Students then get to try out their new techniques themselves and bring their new skills back to the classroom and homes.
Gallery Sketch Tours & Leaving Cert Art Appreciation:
Draíocht’s Galleries provide an excellent opportunity for your students to engage with a local gallery and professional artists, while also affording them the opportunity to make notes, sketches and diagrams. Our tour gives students the opportunity to ask questions and explore Draíocht’s exhibitions, focusing on how we curate, layout, install, display and light work, which can feed directly into the Leaving Certificate Art Exam Paper, which often includes a question on visiting an exhibition or a gallery space.
Exploring Theatre Craft
This transition year project facilitated by theatre professionals Eimear Morrissey and Jo Quinn, works with students from Hartstown Community School and Riversdale Community College annually, introducing them to the magic of theatre.
Draíocht also presents a curated programme of film and live theatre events for Secondary School students, often with accompanying workshops. If you are interested in arranging a screening of a film for your school’s students in Draíocht, please get in touch to discuss this possibility. Screenings will be possible in accordance with the availability of the film and our auditorium, and with a minimum number of 100 pupils.
