LAMA Awards / February 2025
Draíocht receives Certificate of Merit, and Fingal retains Grand Prix for 2025 at LAMA Awards ... which took place in Cork on 22 February 2025.
Draiocht Blanchardstown was delighted to be shortlisted and receive a Certificate of Merit at the #LAMAAwards2025 in the Category 'Best Communications' for our project NEST, which saw the creation of 23 bespoke new performance works inspired by young people from Dublin 15 aged 8 weeks old, to 22 years old.
The LAMA Awards recognise and celebrate community and councils working together, and we were delighted to be a part of Fingal County Council's 14 short-listed projects.
NEST made creative space for the diversity of voices that make up the population of Dublin 15, with its key demographics of the youngest and most culturally diverse populations on the island of Ireland. NEST ensured all were seen, all were heard, all were included. Their peers attended performances by high quality artists about issues that had real resonance for them. Their lives, hopes, dreams and challenges were heard.

"To have 14 projects short-listed initially was a super achievement but to then go and win five awards and retain the Grand Prix was amazing and is testament to the great work that the Council is doing in the community." - Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh
"To be the most successful Council for two successive years at the LAMA Awards shows a consistency of excellence in the work that we do for the people of Fingal. That is to the credit of our councillors and staff as well as the community volunteers and others whom we interact with on a daily basis." - AnnMarie Farrelly, Chief Executive of Fingal County Council
