Draíocht News Update: 14 December 2020
Get your Christmas Jingle on with Draíocht!
Christmas is a GO in Draíocht and although 2020 has been a very different year for us all, we are determined to bring some magic to your little elves this season with our online events.
As a special gift to families and schools, Draíocht commissioned an online show 'Quest for the Jingle', available FREE to everyone during December. Book online and tell your friends and help us share the magic far and wide. With real footage from Lapland and a big wave from SANTA CLAUS at the end (no really, it's actually him!), we hope you will love it just as much as we loved making it! It’s perfect for school and families and everyone who believes in Christmas magic!
Please also support our other shows this month - the wonderful 'Rockin Christmas Rhymes' from Branar in Galway (just €10 per household) and 'The Stories of Hans Christian Andersen' from Verdant Productions (just €12 per household).

Fingal County Council have animated the outside of our building with a gorgeous light showand if you're out and about this side of Christmas, take a wander past and check out our magical window installation created by Orla Kelly.
We have transformed our windows into an enchanted festive tale, filled with lights, colour... and festive mice! Enjoy a little unexpected magic and imagination by peeking through our windows, into miniature homes and the very busy lives of these hand-crafted mice... pulling crackers, sporting festive jumpers, going on a train ride, eating Christmas dinner and having so much fun, day and night!
--
We also had a visit from a much-missed Panto Dame last week!
She misses you all very much and will have a Christmas present for you in the New Year! Stay Tuned!
--
The final stage of filming took place last week on our main stage with Draíocht’s Dance Artist in Residence Jess Rowell and dancer Brian McSweeney via zoom, from Theatre Royal in Waterford.
‘Between Us There Is…’ and ‘Chance to Dance’ will premiere online for public viewing in January 2021. Jess Rowell’s Dance Residency was supported by The Arts Council, with additional funding provided by Fingal County Council.
You may also have noticed that our large banner has been removed from the building. We have some exciting news ahead, which we’ll share with you soon, involving a range of artists and a very big projector!
For now, we hope you have a restful and peaceful Christmas,
Take care, stay safe and we'll see you soon,
From all the team in Draíocht ❤️

The Secrets of Primrose Square
Pat Moylan Productions. Written by Claudia Carroll
FRI 22 - SAT 23 JAN 2021 8PM // €12 PER DEVICE
Welcome to Primrose Square. At number eighteen, there’s Susan - an ordinary woman dealing with the unimaginable, while her teenage daughter Melissa desperately tries to keep the family together. Next door we have sixty-something Jayne, who’s found love again - or has she? A visit to Primrose Square provides us with tears, laughter and gossip in equal proportions.
The Secrets of Primrose Square is three interwoven stories based on a simple quote by Eleanor Roosevelt:
‘A woman is like a tea bag. You can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.’

The show will go on!
