Gladys Coyle Celebrates 50 Shows Directed in Draíocht in 2024
Not a dry eye in the house!

Huge congratulation from all of us in Draíocht to the wonderful Gladys Coyle, in this special year 2024, as she celebrates 50 Shows Directed in Draíocht. We asked Gladys for a full list of the 50 shows, which you can enjoy in the drop-down tab below! Such amazing memories for us all.
As Director & Musical Director for this year's 'Freezin the Panto', Gladys was treated to an amazing surprise video of greetings from past performers going back 20 years, on the final weekend of panto. Not a dry eye in the house!
Congrats again Gladys. And here's to the next 50 Shows!

Gladys Coyle:
Gladys has performed in over 100 musicals with various musical societies in Dublin but principally with O’Connell Musical Society and Coolmine Musical Society. Her favourite roles include: Katisha in “The Mikado”, Ruth in “The Pirates of Penzance”, Golde in “Fiddler on the Roof ” and Jewel in “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” (for which she won Best Female Performer in The Northern Ireland Light Opera Festival).
Gladys set up the Gladys Coyle Stage School to continue training young people from 5 years of age to young adults, in singing, dancing and musical theatre. She is particularly pleased that many of the young members of the 'Freezin' cast, as well as the young dancers, have come through the school.
Gladys first became involved with Coolmine Panto Group in 1982 when she played the role of Alice Fitzwarren in “Dick Whittington and His Cat”. She then went on to play leading roles for many years before making her directing debut with “Robinson Crusoe” in Coolmine Community School. She directed the panto for many years in the School before they moved to Draíocht. This year’s “Freezin’” is her 21st panto to direct in Draíocht.
