Clodagh Emoe

December 2002 - January 2003

Artist In Res Draiocht

Clodagh Emoe is a young Irish artist from Tallaght. She graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 1997 and since then has been the recipient of many awards, including an Arts Council Bursary 2002, Iontas Travel Award 2001, and South Dublin County Council Arts Bursary 2001. Clodagh was nominated for the Victor Treacy Award at the Butler Gallery 2001 and had a solo exhibition at the Belltable Arts Centre, Limerick.

Clodagh's work combines a very old fashioned appreciation of beauty and aesthetic with a conceptual retake on everyday objects and the environment. Humour, celebration and wonder permeate her imagery, sculpture and photographs. Her show from the Belltable Arts Centre, Limerick was made up of some very romantic and sublime images of skies taken from airplane cockpits. Clodagh worked on a new body of work while at Draíocht.
