Draíocht continues its INCUBATE 2019 Studio Residency programme for emerging and early-career visual artists, offering them time and space to research, test new ideas and develop new work.
Since 2001, members of Draíocht’s Artist Team have worked continuously with children and young people across a range of artforms and practices both in and outside of Draíocht. The team includes: visual artists, Andrew Carson, Anne Cradden, Orla Kelly, Genevieve Harden and Deirdre O’Reilly; theatre practitioner Eimear Morrissey and choreographers, Antje O’Toole and Mark Rogers.
Under the direction of Sarah Beirne (Draíocht’s Children and Youth Arts Officer) the Artist Team has developed a myriad of artistic experiences and events for children and young people (aged 0-18 years) including Create Dance; The Toddler Takeover; Focus On Engagement Programme; Family Days; D15 Youth Theatre and Fingal Film Club (funded by Fingal Arts Office).
During their INCUBATE residency, as both individual practitioners and as a working collective, the artists will reflect on their practice and consider new approaches and directions and create work for The Toddler Takeover 2019, using the studio for research and development when needed.
