Fingal International Fotofest was a festival to celebrate international and national amateur photographers. Fingal County Council Arts Office invited photographers who were members of a photographic club or group to submit an image on the theme 'Capture a Moment'.
Photographers were encouraged to be as creative as possible. Out of a total of 242 entries from Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, and Sweden, 22 photographs were selected for exhibition at Draíocht.
The winning photographer, Magdalena Jelonkiewicz who hails from Poland, has been living in Ireland since 2002. Her image,‘Battle at Dusk’ was taken during a 6 month trip to the far east in 2005 where in Hoian, Vietnam she was given a personal guided tour ‘off the beaten track’ by a local boy, and came across this football game.
