Amharc Fhine Gall III is Draíocht’s third annual celebration of artistic creativity in the county organised in collaboration with Fingal County Council.
In 2006 Fingal County Council and Draíocht decided to host an exhibition of works selected from the now extensive and exciting public collection held by the Council.
This project is all the more exciting as the selection was made by 5th year students from Hartstown Community School, with support from Anne Moylan their Art Teacher.
Works by the following artists were selected:
Eddie Cahill, Elizabeth Comerford, Tony Crosbie, Mick Cullen, Des Kenny, John Kindness, Alice Maher, Bernie Masterson, Paraic McQuaid, Mary Rose O’Neill and Una Sealy.
In addition, the young people involved were asked to make a work in response to a piece in the exhibition and contribute their comments, ideas, and experiences to this catalogue. The group also established a design concept for the accompanying catalogue/poster and preview cards. The group call themselves and the exhibition, Vivid Visions XII having worked together intensely over three weeks, observing, debating and negotiating their opinions and choices while at the same time recording their progress in individual notebooks.
