Artist’s Proof was an exhibition by 24 Irish and international fine art printmaking artists. The exhibition was a collaboration between Graphic Studio Dublin and the Chester Beatty Library.
The exhibition linked the Library’s collection of over 30,000 prints, which includes works by Rembrandt and Dürer, with the contemporary fine art print facility at Graphic Studio Dublin. Artists were asked to document the process of making a fine art print for the exhibition including keeping working proofs. The prints were displayed alongside two working proofs to provide a glimpse of how the print was made.
The artists who took part in the exhibition were:
Norman Ackroyd RA (UK), Christopher Le Brun RA (UK), Arno Kramer (Netherlands), Elaine Leader (Ireland), David Lilburn (Ireland), Mary Modeen (USA), Lars Nyberg (Sweden), Barbara Rae (UK), Hayashi Takahiko (Japan).
