A selection of 40 paintings and graphic works by self-taught local artist Des Kenny was exhibited in both the First Floor and Ground Floor Galleries. The exceptional quality in Kenny’s work, featuring some of the familiar aspects of Dublin’s inner city life (the Moore Street and Cumberland Street markets, the Smithfield Horse Fair) is the almost sculpted application of paint, which sits sometimes an inch thick on the surface of the canvas.
