‘My Mother’s Home’, refers to the field on Teeromoyle Mountain in Southwest Kerry, which once housed Margo Banks grandparents’ home. Sustained in reflection, her mother’s stories of her life as a child in Kerry echo through Banks’ work. Her Mother and her Mother’s people have long since died and the house and field abandoned - the submerged ruins of the house rest among the wildlife. Hares, foxes and crows witness the passage of time; symbolic guardians of her stirring memories. Migrating time and place, the field presents itself as a monument; a testament to lives, which removed from residence, find home in the future through her work.
