Mark McGreevy

Mark McGreevy presented an exhibition of large scale semi-abstract paintings featuring references and mini-narratives from popular culture’s depictions of utopian societies and environments. The paintings borrowed from science fiction, simulated computer cities, fantasy toys, real and imaginary architecture, films, journalism and lots more.

Made in vivid hues of pink, orange, yellow and blue these whimsical canvasses are like disordered catalogues of futuristic and invented worlds.

Mark McGreevey studied Fine Art at the University of Ulster where he graduated with a BA in 2001 and an MA in 2003. In 2004 he was nominated by Draíocht and was a runner up for the prestigious AIB Award for an Artist of Promise.
