Semidetached Reflections, from Dublin painter Mary Burke, focused on the theme of suburbia. All of the paintings were executed in oil pastel and consisted of images of reflections in the bodywork of a car.
Mary Burke has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad. This was her 12th solo exhibition. She has won a number of awards including a major bursary from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation in Montreal, a United States Information agency Fellowship and a Golden Fleece Award in 2003. Her work is included in many public and corporate collections including The Arts Council, OPW, AIB, Ulster Bank, The Irish Intercontinental Bank, Eircom, and Aer Rianta.
A full colour catalogue accompanied this exhibition with an introduction written by Dr Maebh O’Regan.
