Alan Daly’s practice is defined by a commitment to live observation within the genres of landscape, still life and portraiture. For Draíocht he has concentrated on charcoal and colour pastel drawings of sitters comprising friends, family and fellow artists. Drawn directly from life, in one sitting of 2 hours, the portraits are characterised by a psychological directness and honesty.
Daly studied Fine Art Painting at D.I.T. He has previously held solo exhibitions at the Talbot Gallery and the Belltable Arts Centre in Limerick. He has exhibited in group shows at the RHA, RUA, Solomon Gallery, Cavehill Gallery and Sligo Art Gallery. His work can be found in the O.P.W and Fingal County Council Collections.
