Peter Bonnar produces his own unique forms of art that cross the bridge between sculpture and painting. Using a variety of materials including car parts, bonnets and railway sleepers as well as conventional painting supports such as board, paper, canvas and card, Bonnar applies a mixture of collage, painting, layers of textures, 3-d bits and pieces, as well as a variety of texts extracted from various sources to the surfaces of his paintings. The result is a curious mix of sculpture and painting finished in an eclectic assortment of high pinks, blues and reds.
Originally from Castleknock Dublin 15, Peter Bonnar graduated from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Appliques et Metiers D’art, Paris in 1994 with a BA in Textile Design and Printing.
