For the Love of Milseáin is a bilingual comedy show that promises to tickle the Irish out of you, even if you don’t know a word.
Secondary School students can expect a wholly unique experience as Áine, “the queen of offbeat”, uses her “divinely awkward” style of comedy to create a really fun experience, that offers a new, exciting approach to speaking and learning Irish.
Áine’s charm is born from the fact that her Irish is not perfect. It has taken her years, along with countless embarrassing situations to become a confident speaker. Throughout the show, Áine masterfully weaves bilingual storytelling with her quirky, deadpan humour to navigate mistake making, mug cake baking and her obsession with Lionel Richie to inspire a nation to let go of their fears and speak Irish in, “For the Love of Milseain”.
This is a fun 60 minute show that can be enjoyed by anyone, especially those who enjoy deadpan humour. It has travelled internationally and hence, a knowledge of the Irish language is not essential.
This event is free to secondary schools, but pre-booking is essential through Draíocht’s Box Office on 01-885 2622 (Tues to Fri only).
