Event2023 Are You There God

11-year-old Margaret returns from summer camp to the surprise news that her parents are moving the family from New York City to the suburbs. Upset about leaving her grandmother and friends behind in the city, Margaret also has to deal with the stress of a new school, finding new friends and the everyday pressures and confusion of early adolescence.

A long-overdue film adaptation of Judy Blume’s beloved 1970 novel, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret is a winning coming-of-age comedy-drama about one young girl’s experiences of becoming a teenager and her parents’ messy but always well-intentioned efforts to do the best for their family. Refreshingly honest and humorous, this is a delightful film that’ll appeal to teenagers and adults alike.

Starring Rachel McAdams, Abby Ryder Fortson, Elle Graham, Benny Safdie, and Kathy Bates

"A funny, exhilarating coming-of-age movie … An instant, all-ages classic."
