Primary School Guided Tours - Young & Curious

Visit Draíocht’s Gallery, Theatre and backstage spaces - maybe sing a song on our stage. These tours will allow your pupils to explore the building and encourage them to voice their opinion about the art in our gallery, to see the inner workings of an arts centre, and introduce them to the idea of a civic space and what that means for our community. 

During October, pupils will visit 'Mise en Abyme' in the Ground Floor Gallery and explore the photography of Sharon Murphy. Pupils are encouraged to look closely, discuss what they see, and consider how photographers tell stories through, perspective and context. Sharon Murphy's work offers pupils the opportunity to investigate how images are created and interpreted. Drawing on photography, theatre and performance the exhibition explores ideas of images within images, looking and being looked at, and the ways that performance can be captured through the camera lens. 

Booking Notes:
Guided Tours last for approx 90 minutes.
Guided Tours are free, but pre-booking is essential.
Guided Tours are suitable for Primary school age groups.
Capacity: Minimum of 8 and a maximum of 28 pupils per tour.
Groups must be accompanied by two adults/teachers.
Guided Tours will adapt according to availability of galleries and theatre spaces.
