Guest Facilitator Felicia Olusanya joins D15 Youth Theatre over Easter

Over 4 days of the Easter holidays, with facilitator Emily Matthews and special guest facilitator Felicia Olusanya, Draíocht's D15 Youth Theatre members enjoyed an interactive writing workshop, that sought to give a voice to young adults in our community. The outcome of that workshop, will form part of Fingal County Council's Arts Office Cruinniú Na nOg celebrations, in June later this year.

Felicia introduced the group to different poetry techniques. They worked off themes like identity, their area, mental health and relationships, with all themes prompted by the group. They explored their own emotions and thoughts within these themes and wrote from the heart. As well as writing solo pieces, the group watched a variety of performances, did a guided meditation, and a particular favourite, the Ping Pong Word Association Game. Then they all worked together merging their poems to create two beautiful finished pieces which we can’t wait to share with you later this year.

These workshops took place in collaboration with Fingal County Council Arts Office, with funding from Creative Ireland.
