Light Up - 4 More Artists Commissioned
Light Up - Draíocht's Building Projection Commissions 2021 is back with the announcement of 4 brand new artist commissions, starting in September and running through to mid January 2022, from artists Órla Kelly, Kathrina Rupit, Elvin Ojuka and Niamh Flanagan.
Light Up began back in February with Alan Nolan's We Can Be Heroes (01 Feb-13 Mar), a work created especially for children, to celebrate a sense of new beginnings and optimism, after a very tough 2020.
Next was Aoife Dunne's ABYSS (22 Mar-01 May), a large-scale digital installation inspired by the chaotic nature of our isolated and technology-driven lives.
Light Up returns in September with Órla Kelly's Welcome back to the Magic Dreamworld (13 Sep-10 Oct), a work for very young children that takes inspiration from their first marks and scribbles as they try to capture and share what is important from the world around them in their early years as they begin their journey in the world.
