'Monsters' Dance Residency
Invitation to Participate
Dancer Matt Szczerek begins his Dance Residency in Draíocht in February, working collaboratively with dancer/circus artist, Alessio Motta and composer Jack Foster. We invite 4 Dublin 15 class groups, with children aged 6-9 years, to work collaboratively with Matt, and to be part of the process of devising a brand new dance work.
If your class has a special interest in dance, monsters, prop-making or composing music, please get in touch with sarah@draiocht.ie to express your interest in taking part.
"My work is driven by emotion and a need to tell stories through the body. It is important that it resonates with young and mature audience, bridging generational gaps and relates to what we all go through as a humanity. I believe the impact of dance can be transformative for many, both performer and audience. My goal in making dance is to create collaborative space and shared experiences that will invite conversation, debate and that will also make you bop!" - Matt Szczerek
Matt Szczerek's Dance Residency 2024 in Draíocht is supported by The Arts Council, with additional funding provided by Fingal County Council & Draíocht.
