Open Call for Graduate Artists

Draíocht is delighted to announce an Open Call as part of its 21st Birthday Exhibition Programme which will take place in its Galleries between 02 March-30 April 2022. Works shown will be selected by way of a 2-stage Open Submission.

The objective of the Open Call Exhibition is to support and highlight new work by graduate visual artists of the last three years (2019, 2020, 2021 only) from recognised third level art colleges across the island of Ireland or Irish citizens from recognised art colleges abroad, at BA and MA levels.

The Open Call exhibition will provide a platform for new work from emerging artists who may have had less opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Prizes

There will be five cash prizes including a top prize of €3,000 and four awards of €500.

The Judges

Judges for Draíocht’s 21st Open Call Submission are:
Amanda Coogan (Visual Artist) who will curate the exhibition
Emer McGowan (Director, Draíocht)
Rory O’Byrne (Fingal Arts Officer)
Aoife Ruane (Curator/ Director and CEO Highlanes Gallery)
The panel will be chaired by Sharon Murphy (Curator Draíocht) and the process will be coordinated by Sara Muthi, Draíocht Open Call 21 Associate Curator.
