Invitation to Participate
This Autumn, Draíocht will begin an exciting new three year project to create a series of professional short live theatre pieces for secondary‑cycle students for performance in their school.
The first piece will be developed by spoken word artist Colm Keegan, working directly with a group of secondary‑school students through a collaborative, creative process, over a 6 week period.
If your school is interested in participating, please email Sarah at sarah@draiocht.ie before 29th May 2026.
Performance in Schools - More about this Project
A cornerstone of Draíocht’s programme is to enable artists make great work and when appropriate to the artists’ practice, to serve a key demographic of Dublin 15, children and young people. Previous projects include NEST (2024) and Our Place Our Stories (2019).
This new 3-year programme, starting in 2026, will facilitate Draíocht working with 3 artists, supporting them to create work inspired by the experiences and lives of local senior cycle students in Dublin 15.
Year 1 - Colm Keegan - Spoken Word
Year 2 - Clare Monnelly - Theatre
Year 3 - Farah Elle - Music & Songwriting
This three-year Artist Residency Programme brings artists into Dublin 15 secondary schools to help students engage creatively and enrich their senior cycle curriculum experience. Artists have been invited to participate in the Residency because of their practice, particular skill set, experience and interest.
By 2029, Draíocht will be in a position to offer a curated menu of professional solo performances for secondary schools in Dublin 15 to choose from, enriching students’ creative lives and aligning with curriculum goals.
