OUT & ABOUT ... Performer and writer Paul Curley brought his specially adapted theatre show 'THE DIG' to Dublin 15 Primary Schools all this week!
On Monday he visited Tyrrelstown Educate Together National School, where he had an amazing reception from 200 pupils!
On Tuesday he visited St. Ciarán's School in Hartstown, where he had an amazing reception from 180 pupils!
On Wednesday he visited Powerstown Educate Together National School, where he had an amazing reception from 300 pupils!
On Thursday he visited St Francis Xavier Junior School for 2 very lively shows to 100 pupils from Junior and Senior Infants, so for some this may have been their very first experience of live theatre in school.
On Friday he visited the pupils in Scoil Mhuire, Senior School, Blakestown. Mac (his character in THE DIG) had a wonderful surprise after the show, when he met Mackie, the resident school Parrot. Very exciting indeed! And a wonderful opportunity to chat about Paul's work-in-progress GREY MATTER, the story of a Scientist and a Parrot.

THE DIG ...
All his life Mac has wanted to be an Archaeologist, to be an expert in finding things and working out what they mean. If only he could stick to the facts and not get carried away with his highfalutin stories. But in a world where facts and figures mean so much more than fairy tale and fantasy, Mac has to dig deeper to prove what he finds is what he thinks it is. Will people believe him, or is this just another of his tall tales?

This presentation of THE DIG by Paul Curley is made possible by Draíocht's Theatre Artist in Residence Scheme with the support of The Arts Council and Fingal County Council Arts Office.
