The Maxine Greene Gathering, a collaboration between arts education practitioners and scholars from Ireland and the US, will take place on Saturday June 14th 2025, in Draíocht, with the support and collaboration of Draíocht and spearheaded by Helen O'Donoghue, Jane O’Hanlon and Carmel Hinchion. A key theme will be the exploration of Dr. Maxine Greene’s seminal notion of the power of social imagination.
This gathering will create the opportunity for the wider community of socially engaged youth arts practitioners, educationalists and artists working in Ireland, to engage in a thoughtful exchange and dialogue around ideas and practice, with a view to establishing a working forum with a group of internationally recognised practitioners, who are experts in the field of aesthetic education.
