OutLine is a playful dance‑theatre performance for public spaces inspired by the joyful, energetic scribbles at the heart of Lucy Hill’s summer exhibition 'Colourings'.
This new dance piece explores how simple marks - lines, loops, squiggles and bursts of colour - can shape movement, relationships and the spaces around us. Like a scribble racing across a page, performers weave through the building, tracing gestures, stretching shapes, and responding to the 'lines' we draw between and with others.
Celebrating the freedom of childhood mark‑making, the performance invites communities to notice the overlooked details of their surroundings, transforming walls and floors into large‑scale sketchbooks. Using dance, original music and collaboration with young people from the local area, the work brings Lucy Hill’s 'Colourings' exhibition off the gallery walls and into lived, moving space - alive with curiosity, play, and collective imagination.
