Last Friday 30th June WAS pure joy indeed! After 5 full days of intense dance practice, and months of work and original choreography, Draíocht Blanchardstown's Create Dance Senior Group presented their showcase performance Going Solo. We were delighted to welcome Cllr Angela Donnelly to the performance along with all the parents and friends of our dancers.
Running for 10 years, Create Dance is a core part of Draíocht’s Sensory Friendly programming. This fun, innovative dance project encourages our young dancers, aged 5-18 years, with a variety of intellectual disabilities and abilities, to dance and move weekly on Saturday afternoons in Draíocht.

With thanks to funding from the Arts Council’s Young Ensembles Scheme, dancers Jess Rowell, Kevin Murphy and Mark Rogers worked alongside musician Alessandro Zangrando, to support and lead our Senior Dance Group to further explore their personal style of dance in response to live music, in this week long Summer Project culminating in an exciting live performance for family and friends.
