Colourings - Creative Response Space

Open daily during the Summer months from 10am-3pm, pop upstairs to our First Floor Gallery Creative Response Space to enjoy a range of creative materials. Children can enjoy a relaxed, hands‑on experience in a welcoming environment designed to meet a wide range of learning styles and needs. No booking is necessary, just pop in. 

Designed in response to Colourings, a bright, sensory‑friendly exhibition in our Ground Floor Gallary by artist Lucy Hill, commissioned especially for Draíocht’s 25th birthday. This interactive space is filled with soft sculptures, gentle sounds, and bold colours that invite exploration, curiosity and calm engagement. Inspired by Lucy’s own joyful scribbles, the artworks can be touched, moved, and rearranged, encouraging children to make choices, collaborate, and play at their own pace. Perfect for families, this exhibition supports sensory regulation, creative expression, and meaningful connection.

Artist Support Thursdays - Maev Kelly
Artist Meav Kelly will be in the Creative Response Space on Thursdays 06, 20 and 27 August, from 10am to 3pm, supporting children and families with their art-making, answering questions, and encouraging creative exploration.

Artist Sarah Ward will be in the Creative Response Space on Fridays 07, 21 and 28 August, from 10am to 3pm, supporting children and families with their art-making, answering questions, and encouraging creative exploration.
